Farewell to 13 Homes, Forever Part of Our Story
As we say goodbye to the 13 townhomes that have stood proudly at Village Canadien Co-op for the past 50 years, we pause to reflect on the countless memories created within their walls.
These homes were much more than buildings. They were places where families grew, children took their first steps, lifelong friendships were formed, and neighbours became an extended family. Over five decades, these townhomes provided comfort, stability, and a sense of belonging to countless members who proudly called Village Canadien Co-op home

It is impossible not to feel a sense of sadness as we watch them come down. Each doorway, window, and room holds a piece of our shared history. The laughter of children playing outside, family celebrations around kitchen tables, and the everyday moments that make a house a home have all contributed to the rich story of our community.
While we mourn the end of this chapter, we also recognize the opportunity that lies ahead. Change is never easy, especially when it involves places filled with so many cherished memories. Yet Village Canadien Co-op has always been a community built on growth, resilience, and looking toward the future.
As these 13 townhomes become part of our history, we look forward to what comes next. The new developments and improvements will welcome future generations of members, creating new friendships, new traditions, and countless new memories. Just as these homes served our community for the last 50 years, the next chapter will help shape the lives of members for many years to come.
Though the buildings may be gone, the memories, stories, and people connected to them will always remain a part of Village Canadien Co-op. We honour the past with gratitude, embrace the future with optimism, and look forward to creating endless new memories together.
